About TRSA

Territory Resources Services Association (TRSA)

In May 2019, KMSA, Katherine Mining Services Association changed its name to Territory Resources Services Association and in doing so expanded its footprint. We are now a peak industry association covering all the NT. Having replaced Mining with Resources has made it clearer we services all resources related industries. TRSA is better positioned to help both Mining and Energy sectors engage across the NT.

The Territory Resources Services Association (TRSA) represents the Northern Territory emerging resources services industry. With a sizeable local membership and a growing associate membership of businesses outside the region. TRSA is a key connection if you are planning to operate in the Northern Territory.

The Association is recognised and supported by the Northern Territory Government.

TRSA proactively works to raise the profile of the Northern Territory’s resources service industry. We promote the capability of our members to grow the level of products and services provided to the explorations, mining and energy industries from the Northern Territory.

TRSA also facilitates business-to-business connections and the development of alliances. Contact TRSA to get the local knowledge and be introduced to Northern Territory suppliers and service providers.

TRSA hosts networking events on a regular basis, which you are welcome to attend when you are travelling in the region. Our events are a way to meet local operators who can help you deliver your project outcomes more effectively.

TRSA produces informative newsletters, be sure to get on our mailing list to stay connected with TRSA and industry activities in the region.

TRSA accepts associate membership applications from external service and supply providers who can deliver sound results. Local members are willing to develop alliances with external service and supply providers to increase capacity to deliver sound results for mining and energy projects.

NTG

The mining and energy industries are very important to the Northern Territory (NT).

Mining and petroleum operations contribution to the economy was 12.3% Gross State Product in 2014-15. These operations and activities are critical to the Territory’s development, particularly in regional areas.

The NT has some of Australia’s largest deposits of uranium, zinc-lead, bauxite, gold, phosphate and manganese.

The Territory also has high potential for other commodities, with exploration and developing projects underway for copper, rare earths, vanadium, lithium, tungsten, mineral sands and potash and more.

The Territory is highly prospective for onshore oil and gas. There are producing fields at Dingo, Mereenie and Palm Valley in Central Australia, which are linked to Darwin by the Amadeus-to-Darwin gas pipeline. A proposed new pipeline linking the Territory to the Queensland pipeline grid is currently under environmental assessment.

The Department of Primary Industry and Resources regulates the mining and petroleum industries, including inspecting and auditing sites on a regular basis.

Background

Territory Resources Services Association (TRSA) was formed in mid-2012 in response to the emerging mining, oil and gas potential in the Northern Territory.

The Northern Territory is a natural service and supply hub for a very large region. Consequently there are a huge variety of services and products to support your project.

Local businesses are very well placed, if not best placed, to add value to projects in our region. We have strong vested interests in helping you get it right for your project. Ultimately, it means more jobs for our children and Indigenous people.

Local knowledge of terrain, geography, climate and supply chain logistics gives TRSA and other Northern Territory businesses efficiencies that external providers may struggle to deliver to your projects.

There are many other reasons to make the Northern Territory your Supply Hub.
